ABSTRACT | The paper reports on two case studies carried out to assess the social and economic impacts of climate variability and change in the Mediterranean: The coastal zones of Tunis and the county of Sibenik-Knin in Croatia.
In each case state of the knowledge on impacts of climate variability and change was reviewed and used to see how far adaptation actions could be supported by that knowledge.
A comparison of the two case studies reveals the differences in terms of knowledge base, institutions and capacity for effective action. Based on that recommendations for further support and action and identified to make climate adaptation more effective. |
